Our Mission

Making new roads to Emmaus in the digital city

Growing in Christian faith, hope, and love, with Catholic families, parishes, and dioceses.

In the context of contemporary culture as it is – ever more digital and technological – our mission is to support Christ and Church sometimes through, and with these means, and at other times, despite them.

Embedded in the culture of the United States, we seek to be of the things of God by both utilizing and navigating technology to grow in faith, hope, and love with other Catholics.

Without placing faith in our efforts or our activity as an apostolate, but instead by placing it in Jesus, as the Son of God and Christ, we sacrifice for the goals articulated below.

Purpose

Goals of the Catholic.Work Apostolate

Domestic Churches

To unite families with the intention of passing Catholic faith and values on to our children by our homes becoming “little churches”.

Christian Initiation

To contribute to the integral mission of parishes: evangelizing seekers and initiating them as disciples of Christ.

Christian Formation

To contribute to the ongoing formation of Christians as disciples who practice the faith with specific vocations, or callings.

Christian Pathways

Constructing new roads to Emmaus
that utilize new technologies well and order lives beyond them: to the Kingdom of God.

After years of commitment to serving the Church in parish and diocesan positions I realized a complimentary and collaborative model was needed.

This model begins with the imperatives of Jesus: 1) repent 2) believe 3) seek the Kingdom.

But it must not be dependent upon the temporal conditions of the local Church while always being in communion with her.

It would be at the service of dioceses and parishes but not dependent upon their resources and personnel for its apostolate. It would always do this at the discretion of the successors of the Apostles.

Finally, it would be focused on recognition of one’s baptismal identity and the exercise of the priesthood of all the faithful.

Our Core Values

Our core values are founded upon the invitation of Christ to be converted and believe in the Gospel.

Faith

Aware of the temptation to look to the Enemy (world, flesh, devil) instead of the Gospel, we echo the faith of Peter: Jesus is the Messiah and son of God. We don’t place faith in what we do but instead in who God is. We unite our personal faith with the faith of the Church.

Hope

Faith in who God is, instead of what we do, orders our hope to Christ and the Church as his mystical body. We see hope in God as both an agent and a fruit of Christian faith. Placing our hope in eternal things is a fundamental condition for following Jesus.

Love

Recognizing that God is love through our faith in Christ we see Christian love as the way of life Jesus teaches us.

Please reach out and connect with us. We will accompany each other in greater faith, hope, and love. There are many different ways that God may lead us. Our faith is that Jesus Christ is the son of God – and our works are made good in relation to our love of him.
